The Guildhall, Gloucester, 23rd October 2018

WMC topped the bill at Gloucester's centenary commemorative concert, marking the end of WW1. The concert raised funds for The Royal British Legion and the Rifles Regimental Association and included a selection of songs from the Great War as well as a number of Remembrance anthems.

The concert also included the world premiere of a new Remembrance piece called A Hymn for Fallen Comrades commissioned by Wessex Male Choir from acclaimed British composer Paul Mealor.

WMC were delighted to be invited to participate in the High Sherriff of Wiltshire's celebration of all things Swindon in a showcase at the Wyvern Theatre entitled 'Uncelebrated Journey'. The show featured contributions by dancers from the Northern Ballet Theatre, Paul Turner and Caroline Dale, Ten-in-a-Bar, the Janice Thompson Singers, Swindon Choral Society, Swindon Symphony Orchestra, and many more.

Cornwall International Male Choir Festival, April 2017

Wessex participated in this festival of over 60 male choirs, and sang in 7 events over 5 days, with venues including Truro, Newquay, Hayle, Falmouth, and the Eden Project.

The choir also took part in the competition and were placed 4th in their class.

Wessex were proud to take part in the launch of the RBL Poppy Appeal before the NFL match between the Washington Redskins and Cincinnati Bengals.

The choir, conducted by Haydn James, sang in front of a crowd of over 84,000 people, and was televised worldwide.

Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts, 14th May 2016

WMC entered two classes ('Male Choir' and 'Songs from the Shows') at the Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts. The choir won both classes, and were also awarded the Gold Cup for "Most Memborable Performance" at the festival.

This was the third time that Wessex had been awarded the coveted Gold Cup (previously won in 2008 and 2013).

WMC's 7th International Concert with one of Belgium's most successful choirs - the Lirica Youth Choir.

The Lirica youth choir was founded in 1972. Under the direction of its present conductor, Jos Venken, the choir has won prizes such as the first prize summa cum laude in The European Music Festival for Young people in Neerpelt.

This concert took place in the wonderful setting of Malmesbury Abbey, to benefit The Tuesday Club. This organisation meets in Malmesbury to provide weekly recreation and companionship for people whose chances of social contact are limited by infirmity.

This concert was at the invitation of Snowdown Colliery Male Choir, in support of the Rainbow Trust. Snowdown were popular guests of WMC in June 2005 at the Cricklade Festival, and both choirs enjoyed another joint concert.

Wessex hosted the world-famous Pontarddulais Male Choir from Wales. The 100 strong Choir are the only choir ever to win 1st place at the National and International Eisteddfod in the same year (2004). The choirs were also joined by the Warneford School Choir from Highworth.

The choirs were delighted to support The Alzheimers Society.

The 4th international concert hosted by WMC in Swindon. We were delighted to host 'Lihkören', Linkoping University Male Choir from Sweden. This versatile choir performed works in Swedish, English, Finnish, German, and Welsh!

WMC took part in the International Male Voice Choir Festival in Cornwall. This festival involved 45 choirs from 10 countries. WMC sang at Truro, Helston, and the Eden Project.

A joint concert of WMC with the The Sons of Orpheus - The Male Voice Choir of Tucson, Arizona, USA

This sellout concert was the first major event in Swindon by WMC and established it as one of the premier choirs in the area.

The Sons of Orpheus included this concert in a short UK tour that included the International Eisteddfod at Llangollen. They ably demonstrated the reasons for their international reputation with a program including Verdi, Wagner and Janacek, followed by a selection of cowboy songs, culminating in the theme from Rawhide!
