As well as a prolific composing career, Howard keeps very busy with a wide range of broadcasting roles on both TV and radio.
His compositions span a number of genres including sacred music, musicals, and TV theme tunes, perhaps the most well known of which are
for The Vicar of Dibley, QI, Red Dwarf, Blackadder, Mr Bean, and The Thin Blue Line. He is England’s first national ambassador for
singing and was appointed CBE in 2011 for services to music and education. We are delighted that Howard agreed to become a patron of the Choir in 2017.
Whilst Aled Jones came to fame as the young chorister who performed ‘Walking in the Air’, his subsequent career has taken him into television
and radio where he has become a household name. He has presented shows such as Songs of Praise, Escape to the Country, and Cash in the Attic,
he has also worked as a presenter on Classic FM. He has released a number of albums and continues to tour as a singer. Wessex were delighted
to share the stage with him at a charity event in Sheffield during 2013.
