Wessex Male Choir
Our latest CD - listen now...
Wessex Male Choir was founded by its Musical Director Robert Elliott in September 2001, and currently has around 50 members.
The choir has built a reputation for its professionalism and
entertaining repertoire, and is in
great demand for concert engagements.
WMC also has a proud tradition of charity support, both nationally and in the Swindon area.
Wessex Male Choir occasionally enters competitions. We were also awarded the coveted Gold Cup for the best choir at the Cheltenham Choral Festival in May 2008 and took second position in the Male Choir competition at Llangollen International Eisteddfod in July 2006, beating all other UK choirs.
WMC is proud to have singing star Aled Jones as its patron, and is also a member of the National Association of Choirs.
Wessex has enjoyed numerous associations with other choirs, both home and abroad. If you would like to contact us, please email us.

Community Engagement
Wessex MC has built up a substantial base of friends and supporters in Swindon over the last few years. However, many people within a short distance of Swindon may not be aware of the choir and its successes and/or have not had an opportunity to see and hear us perform.
Our community engagement programme is intended to improve awareness of the choir generally and demonstrate, via an open rehearsal and short free concert, what we can do and how we can support local initiatives. For men who have an interest in singing as part of a group it will also provide them with an opportunity to take part in a rehearsal without any commitment on their part.
Since its inception the choir has built up a good track history of charitable support in the community and is keen to maintain this record. Under this initiative, local charitable groups or festival organisers will gain direct experience of what the choir has to offer and will be well informed of the choir's potential to support any events they are organising.
The first engagement of this nature will take place in Faringdon Junior School, on 16 September 2008 at 7:15pm.
